Rhythms of Africa

Sunday August 1st 2010

Celebrate summer with this irresistible day of African music and dance!

A day workshop
in fabulous 5 Rhythms™ dance to African music (12 – 5pm)

at the Medway Centre, Bakewell.

A workshop in Gabrielle Roth’s exhilarating 5Rhythms™ dance to a wide range of African music.
led by Cora Greenhill

For all adults and young adults who enjoy dancing: no experience or level of fitness needed!
Dancing the 5Rhythms, or ‘wave’ dancing, is about letting go and allowing your body to find it’s own spontaneous, self-expressive movement. You begin to know the natural joy of ‘dancing like no one’s watching’. The 5 Rhythms ‘map’ encourages you to explore a wide repertoire of movement in your own way and following your own energy, and move with others with ease and authenticity. It’s fun, energising, exhilarating, and can be physically and emotionally releasing, and mentally calming. On this workshop you will be encouraged to lose yourself to a wide range of wonderful African music, from sultry to stirring.

Cora has been teaching this work in UK and abroad since she was accredited by Gabrielle Roth in 1994. She is passionate about dance, African music, and Africa!

Please note that this is NOT a workshop in African dance!

Cost of workshop £25 (conc. £20) (payable in advance), which includes a donation to the charity Village Aid.
Book by sending a cheque made out to Cora Greenhill to:
